Chapter 2: Light of the World Day 4
Matthew 17:1-2 - Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
1 John 1:5-7 - This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Father,
I praise You for You have no darkness, You are light and shine through us and in us when we are living for Jesus in Your Word. I praise You and thank You for sending the darkness out of me and for each time I let it in that You will cleanse me and chase it out again. I thank You for giving me the ability to walk in the grace that keeps me out of that darkness.
I ask forgiveness for all the habitual sins that I let pull me down. I know that I am a sinner, but I could do better. Depression and laziness are the two that plague me the most. I just need to continue to focus on them and stand in You each day.
Please draw me away from sin and into Your light so that I can shine for those that I am in contact with. I want to be a light in this world for You and show others to Your light always.
In Jesus Name,

Genesis portrays God creating light when the earth was, yet a formless void and darkness was over the surface of the deep.
Divine appearances are often portrayed with light.
Living in the light requires effort impelled by Grace. In minimum it is following the lighted paths of God's commandments. Follow the Lords true life of light, being like Jesus.
Exodus 20:1-17 - And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. “You shall not murder. “You shall not commit adultery. “You shall not steal. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
Matthew 22:34-40 - But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Thank You Father for allowing me to live in Your light and keep me living in the light and walking so that others would see that light.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
