Praying the Name of Jesus

 Chapter 4: Bread of Life Day 1 The Name: Bread of Life     Without bread most of those in ancient Israel would not survive. It is good that in the Lord's prayer that Jesus instructs His followers to pray for their daily bread. Yet the Lord also challenged His followers not to work for food that spoils. That He is the only food that enables them to live forever. Bethlehem is where Jesus was born, and it was means house of bread.      After feeding the 5000, He shocked His followers: John 6:53 -  Then Jesus said to them,  “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless   you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.     This week as we seek to know Jesus as the bread of life, we must ask Him to show us exactly what it means to feed on Him.  Key Scripture:  John 6:48-51 -    I am the bread of life.   Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and are dead.   This is the bread w...

 Father,      I ask that You prepare my heart to learn the next name tomorrow, that I grasp the meaning and know it in my heart by the end of the week. I am so blessed to do this study and pray for the love and care that You are showing in each name that I study.      Thank You Father,  In Jesus Name,      Amen 

 Chapter 3: Child Day 6 Promises associated with His Name: A Child can be one of life's greatest blessings opening you again to wonder, renewing your amazement at God's good plan for the future.  Little wonder that a child was God's first promise to the world.  The Christ child has always been identified as the fulfillment of the promise to crush satan our worst enemy and lead us back to paradise.  Promises in Scripture: Genesis 3:14-15 -  So the  Lord  God said to the serpent:  “Because you have done this,  You   are   cursed more than all cattle,  and more than every beast of the field;  On your belly you shall go,  and   you shall eat dust  All the days of your life.  And I will put enmity  Between you and the woman,  and between   your seed and   her Seed;  He shall bruise your head,  and you shall bruise His heel.” Isaiah 7:14 -  Therefore, the Lord Himself will ...

 Chapter 3: Child Day 5 Praying the Name: Luke 2:1-20 -  And it came to pass in those days  that  a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.  This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.  So, all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.  Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,  to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.  So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.  And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.  Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.  Andbehold, an ...

 Chapter 3: Child Day 1 The Name: Child A child was always at the heart of a Biblical covenant, already in the garden God promised Eve that her child would crush the head of the serpent who had beguiled her.  Later, God promised Abraham that Sarah would have a child who would be the first of countless descendances.  Then Isaiah spoke of the child who would be born of a virgin and would be given the name Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace,  The New Testament tells of the fulfillment of that promise and Jesus presents children as the model of His people to follow. The only way to enter the kingdom is humility and trust of little children.  Father,      I just send up a quick prayer, thanking You for being Immanuel - God with us and the Light of the world. You have taught me to appreciate these two names of Yours and the reason behind them. I am anxious to start the next one tomorrow.      Thank You!! In Jesus Name,      Amen 

 Chapter 2: Light of the World Day 6 Promises associated with His name.  What are you waiting for - that is what you are living for.  We are waiting for:       Rapture!!        Second Coming!! Isaiah 60:19-20 -  “The   sun shall no longer be your light by day,  Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;  But the   Lord   will be to you an everlasting light,  And   your God your glory.  Your sun shall no longer go down,  Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;  For the   Lord   will be your everlasting light,  And the days of your mourning shall be ended. Revelation 21:22-27 -   But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.  The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it.    Chapter 2: Light of the World Day 5 Matthew 5:14-16 -  “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.   Nor do they   light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all  who are  in the house.   Let your light so shine before men,   that they may see your good works and   glorify your Father in heaven. Philippians 2:14-16 -  Do all things without complaining and disputing,   that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,  holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.  Chapter 2: Light of the World Day 4 Matthew 17:1-2 -   Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;  and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 1 John 1:5-7 -     This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. Father,      I praise You for You have no darkness, You are light and shine through us and in us when we are living for Jesus in Your Word.
