Chapter 1 - Immanuel: Day 2

 His Name Revealed!! 

    Jesus - He will save His people from their sins. Immanuel which means God with us!! 

    Isaiah 7:14 - Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son and shall call His name Immanuel.

    Matthew 1:18-23 - Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

    Meant for all God's people, the Bible is about God's desire to dwell with His people. 

    Jesus came to rescue, redeem and restore our relationship with God. 

Studying the Name 

 1.How have you experienced “Immanuel” — God being with you, in your life thus far? He has touched my life and brought people into my life when I needed them to remain alive and happy in Him. To lead me to God and stand with me during the rough time. 

2.Matthew begins and ends his Gospel with the promises that God is with us. Matthew 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age." Amen How would your life be different if you began and ended each day with the firm belief that God is with you? I am not sure how much would change, but I would focus more on Him and not forget the things I sometimes do. Problems would not seem so bad and life would be more worth living if we really knew that God is "WITH" us. 

3.What does this title of Jesus reveal about his nature? That He is a God of love, He cares enough about us to be right here with us and in us. That is an amazing love.

Father, 

    Thank You for being with me even when I do not feel it. You are an amazing God and a loving God because we sure do not deserve to have You with us.

Monday June 9, 2025 - Light of the World!!

 Chapter 2: Light of the World Day 2 The Name Revealed!! John 1:3-9 -  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.    In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.  There was a man sent from God, whose name  was  John.  This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.  He was not that Light but  was sent  to bear witness of that Light.  That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
