Chapter 9: Christ, Messiah Day 5

Praying the Name:

2 Corinthians 12:7-12 - And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  I have become a fool in boasting; you have compelled me. For I ought to have been commended by you; for in nothing was I behind the most eminent apostles, though I am nothing. 12 Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.

Philippians 3:7-14 - But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.  Not that I have already attained or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Father,

Thank You for sharing Your power with us and for in our human weakness we are not far from You. That You are the strength that we need and love. I thank You for giving us strength just to get through one more day on earth each day that comes.

I do thank You God for giving a life that we might be able to go to heaven one day and that we will be with You, praise You and do Your work for all of our lives.

Father, forgive me for the times I rely on my strength and not Yours, give me the strength to take on the new girls and to be there for them. Give me Your strength for stories and letters to them and for standing in You when I write. Please keep me doing what You have called me to do.

Keep me running the race to the end and help me to help many girls to find You in their lives, live their lives for You and keep a future in You that they can be proud of. Keep me encouraging them always in prayer and love.

Thank You for life, thank You for Your life!!

In Jesus Name,

    Amen

Easter of course is the great celebration of Christ's victory; it recognizes that Jesus God's anointed one finished the job He came to do. Like Him we are called to finish well by reproducing the pattern of His life until it is time for us to leave this world.

God alone carries us. Our weakness is God's opportunity to show His strength.
