 Chapter 8: Prince of Peace Day 4

Praying the Name:

Isaiah 32:17-18 - The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.

Philippians 4:8-9 - Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Father, 

    I praise You for bringing us to the path of peace, for giving us AWANA to come to You and know You as our Savior so that we would have a special peace that only You could give when the world threw up on us. You gave Yourself so that we could get through this time. 

    Thank You for the peace You have given and the love that You show in all that You do to care for us. Please help tomorrow to go smoothly and without a hiccup. Give me peace about that and let everything work out. 

    Forgive me for rationalizing any thing that goes with Your law. I think it is the church thing and the being around others that I have to ask forgiveness for, but Father I just cannot go be around all those people. Please keep my ministry here going and give me the ability to stay home. I am at peace here; I do not want to go around all those people. 

    Please make me someone who spreads peace and not chaos and that I be able to be a person of peace in my own life. Right now, the only thing that is not peaceful is leaving this house. 

    I ask that You be with my neighbors, I thank You for bringing them out to help when the suv would not start, thank You that so many came to help. Let me be a witness to them if I can and share when they need help. I ask for them all to know You. I pray for Luke specially as he does not go to church with Raine and the kids, work in his heart to go and enjoy the time there learning about you. 

    Thank You for the help they give.

Evil despite its allure is essentially stupid pursuing our impulses regardless of God's instructions, is like throwing ourselves headlong onto a tree. You and I may never be tempted to go joy riding, but what about other temptations like stretching the truth to gain an advantage, or constantly yelling at our kids, or flirting with someone else's spouse or spending more money than we have or spouting off just because we feel like it. 

What happens when these behaviors become common place in our society, in businesses, churches, governments and media. Inevitably such moral failures will diminish the peace, sometimes they will even destroy it. God has already shown us the path of peace we need to walk in it. and pursue it with all our hearts, remembering the counsel of the profit Isaiah who reminds us that:

Isaiah 32:17 - The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

Take time today to pray for yourself and your neighbors, ask Christ to work in all hearts so that all might experience His peace.

 Chapter 2: Light of the World Day 2 The Name Revealed!!
