Chapter 13: Bright Morning Star Day 6
Promises Associated with His Name:
Little people always seem to resist the ending of the day, come to think of it I sometimes stay up way past my bedtime, maybe the problem is a primeval fear of the darkness. We resist closing our eyes lest we never open them again.
I wonder did humans panic when the sun went down for the very first time? Were they heartened by a brilliant white light hanging low in the western sky? If so they were probably gazing at the evening star which just so happens to be the second planet from the sun. Yes, Venus is both the morning and the evening star, a steady brightness, that reminds us of the One who lights up our darkness and chases away our gloom.
Promises in Scripture:
Psalm 139:11-12 - If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
Isaiah 29:18-19 - In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, And the poor among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of Israel.
Continue Prayer and Praise:
Hold fast to Christ and He Will Give You the Morning Star
Revelations 2:26-28 - And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star.
Remember that Jesus is the radiance of God's Glory:
Hebrews 1:3 - who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Be glad because Jesus Shines on those living in darkness:
Luke 1:67-79 - Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: 68 “Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people, 69 And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David, 70 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began, 71 That we should be saved from our enemies And from the hand of all who hate us, 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers And to remember His holy covenant, 73 The oath which He swore to our father Abraham: 74 To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life. 76 “And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, 77 To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; 79 To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”
