Chapter 11: Word Day 3
Praying the Name:
John 1:1-4 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Father,
I praise You Father, for Your all powerful Word, that You send Jesus to be our look into Your Word in human form. And thank You for giving us Your living Word in book that we can read and study daily.
Thank You for Jesus Words for the things He spoke and did here on earth so that we might stand in Him. We have His Word to change and encourage us to live for You.
I ask forgiveness if I do not believe the Bible and parts, I try to embrace every word spoken about You and Your Word, but I know there are days when I doubt You and I am sorry for that. Give me strong belief in Your Word and Son, Jesus
I ask for an increase in the love for Your scripture and the Words that You have spoken to us so that we have Your Holy Word with us and in us. Give me a strong desire to be in and through scripture.
Thank You for hearing us and standing with us.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
Hebrew 4:12 - For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God's Word has the power not to just communicate His purpose but to accomplish whatever He intends, and never returns void or empty. When God speaks, things happen, read the first pages of Genesis if you doubt that. "And God said let there be light, and there was light, and God said let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear, and it was so, God said let the land produce vegetation and it was so, "
The world was created by God speaking it into existence, Jesus the Word of God the second person of the trinity was thus present at the worlds beginning. But the perfect world that God created was soon corrupted by sin, Jesus came to earth to recreate the world, restoring it to Gods original purpose, miracles happened when He spoke, storms ceased the lame walked, people were delivered from demons, and the dead were raised.
These were signs that the world deformed by sin was being reshaped by God's all powerful word. Listen to the record of the gospels. Jesus said to the waves, quiet be still, then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Jesus said to the paralytic, get up take your mat and go home. and the man got up and went home. Jesus rebuked the evil spirit You deaf and mute spirit, I command you to come out and never enter him again, the spirit shrieked and shook him and violently came out Jesus called in a loud voice, Lazareth come out and the dead man came out.
Jesus is still speaking, still reshaping the world one person at a time, as His followers we need to study and pray over His Words. We need to listen carefully and expectantly for His voice.
Try spending 10 to 15 minutes today meditating on John 1:1-4 and Genesis 1:1-5, may God's Spirit nourish your mind and heart as you listen for the voice of the Lord.
