 Chapter 13: Bright Morning Star Day 4

Praying the Name:

Numbers 24:17 - “I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and [a]batter the brow of Moab, and destroy all the sons of [b]tumult. 

Matthew 16:2-3 - He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ [a]Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.


Father, 

    I want to Praise You, for giving us signs of Your presence in the lives we live. That You are here giving us life and all the things that we need to live our lives to the best. Thank You for our lives. 

    Thank You for all the guidance that You have given and the help You have given. You have always been there for my wild desires and ideas. You have given me safe life and good one, I just wish I was closer to You when I was young and could have lived more of You in my life. 

    I am sorry for the things I did when I took my eyes off of You. I ask forgiveness for anything that I have forgotten that needs forgiveness and those things that I will do and forget as well. I do not remember much of my life, but I know that I have been so tired when it comes to life that I do not have it in me to remember either. Forgive me for those things that I have done wrong. 

    I ask that You keep me on the right course, that I will stand for You always and walk in the direction that You desire. I ask that once my teeth are clean You help me to go back to church and smile even with the missing tooth. I thank You again for this dentist. 

    

    Historic people used to watch the skies to know where they were. By watching the sun in its path they knew whether they were headed east or west they could also locate their position by gazing at the nights sky. Aware as they were that individual stars appear at fixed distances above the horizon at any particular location during the year. 

    Even today Satellites use a similar technique making their position in space by using star trackers. instruments that use groups of stars as reference points. 

    But what does any of this have to do with Christ as the Bright Morning Star? Remember that the morning star was the harbinger of dawn. When Jesus called Himself the Bright Morning Star, He was saying that He was our reference point the sign that a new day is dawning on the world. Scripture tells us that this will be a day that never ends, its light will be so steady and strong and fixed that darkness will finally be banished from earth no more sin, no more sorrow, no more tears. If the first coming of Jesus is like the star that announces the dawn, His second coming will be like lightening bringing the swift fulfillment of His kingdom. We need to remember to look up. Lift our faces to the Bright Morning Star, because it is only when Jesus is our reference point that we understand our true location in time and space.
